Arrest Made in Early Morning Stabbing in Downtown Crossing

Investigation Update: This morning at about 8:13 AM, officers from District 1 responded to Washington and Winter Streets on a report of a person stabbed. On arrival, the officers located a crime scene outside of 10 Winter Place. The officers also located an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. This victim was treated and transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital for what was believed, at the time, to be life threatening injuries. Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded and took over the investigation due to the victim's injuries.

An individual was placed under arrest and charged with outstanding warrants (Larceny over $250 and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender). Further investigation into the matter, this individual, Calvin Spencer, 33, of Boston, was charged with stabbing the victim in the Downtown Crossing area. Calvin Spencer will be charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court on Thursday.

The victim's injuries have been upgraded and he is expected to survive this stabbing. Therefore, the investigation has been returned to Area A-1 Detectives.
