Tiffany Pins Earns Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year Award

Tiffany Pins, head women's soccer coach at Washington and Lee University, was selected as the 2024 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Soccer Coach of the Year in voting conducted by the league's coaches.

Pins, who collected the award for the second time in three seasons at W&L, has guided the ninth-ranked Generals to a historic season this fall. The Blue & White has accrued a program-record 20 wins with just one loss and one tie. W&L is currently on a 21-game unbeaten streak after dropping a 1-0 loss to 24th-ranked The College of New Jersey in the season opener.

The Generals have surrendered just four total goals in 22 contests and haven't allowed the ball into the back of the net since a 4-1 win over Randolph-Macon College on Oct. 5, producing 14 consecutive shutouts.

W&L claimed its first ODAC championship since 2016 with a 1-0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan University in the conference title game on Nov. 10 and opened the NCAA Tournament with wins over Farmingdale State College (3-0) and Ohio Northern University (2-0) last weekend to advance to the Sweet 16. The Blue & White next faces 11th-ranked William Smith College on Nov. 23 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Should the Generals defeat the Herons, they would face the winner of a game between Trinity University and 14th-ranked University of Scranton the following day for a chance to advance to the NCAA Final Four for the first time in program history.

Pins has amassed a 47-7-10 (.812) record in her three seasons at W&L, leading the Generals to an NCAA Tournament berth all three years. She claims a 179-64-37 (.705) career record in 14 seasons as a collegiate head coach. She spent her first 11 seasons at Wartburg College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 2005. Pins also holds a Master of Arts in physical education with an emphasis in teaching and coaching from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010.
