On Nov. 14, The Birches on Maple celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that welcomed more than 100 attendees, including community members, local leaders, stakeholders and prospective residents. This much-anticipated event provided an exclusive look at west Georgia's newest and most innovative senior living community.
The event featured guided tours of the community's main areas: the spacious clubhouse, assisted living, memory care and independent living options, as well as single-family homes. Each tour emphasized The Birches on Maple's dedication to creating a supportive and vibrant environment for its residents.
The ceremony included remarks from three key speakers: Daniel Jackson, chairman of the Board of Directors at Tanner Health; Loy Howard, president and chief executive officer of Tanner Health; and Wayne Senfeld, executive vice president of behavioral health at Tanner Health. The successful development of The Birches on Maple was made possible through a collaborative effort between Tanner Health, RaLin Construction, Linco Development and Beacon Communities.
"Our latest Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) highlighted a significant need for high-quality senior living, and The Birches on Maple is our answer," said Howard. "We aimed to bring exceptional senior living to west Georgia, ensuring residents receive the support they need while remaining close to home. This community is designed to help residents get healthy and live well, like the name of our community wellness program, and also stay healthy and live well while they're here. We are committed to learning from our residents and constantly enhancing our services. Today marks an exciting new chapter, and we look forward to the developments ahead."
The grand opening highlighted Tanner Health's commitment to a holistic approach to senior living, prioritizing the physical, mental and social well-being of its residents. Representatives from the University of West Georgia (UWG) and City Station - two organizations with whom The Birches on Maple is partnering to offer lifelong learning opportunities for residents - were also in attendance.
Those interested in joining this thriving community are encouraged to call and reserve their spot.
