Crofton outdoor pool opening delayed to July 3

The opening of the Crofton outdoor pool planned for June 29 will be delayed until July 3 at 1:30 for public swimming.

A mechanical issue that occurred during start-up operations required repairs, which delayed the necessary health inspection and on-site lifeguard staff training.

Pool patrons can consider visiting the beach at Fuller Lake Park or the Cowichan Aquatic Centre over the Canada Day long weekend (though the aquatic centre will be closed on July 1).

Swim lessons that were originally scheduled to start at Crofton outdoor pool for the week of July 2 have been relocated to the Cowichan Aquatic Centre, though all other lessons scheduled for Crofton pool this summer will go ahead as planned.
