USI to hold Pre-Professional Medical Careers Showcase

The University of Southern Indiana is holding a Pre-Professional Medical Careers Showcase for high school students on Saturday, November 2, giving students the opportunity to learn more about medical careers including doctors, dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants, optometrists, physical therapists and chiropractors. At the event, high school students will network with current medical professionals, discuss career paths with medical professionals and USI faculty, attend breakout sessions intended to assist students who are interested in medical careers in their preparation and meet current students who are pursuing medical careers.

Students who attend can also learn more about the pre-professional programs offered at USI including pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-chiropractic, pre-optometry, pre-physician assistant, pre-pharmacy and pre-physical therapy.

Below is the schedule of events for the showcase:

  • 12:30 p.m.: Check In
  • 12:30-1:15 p.m.: Networking Reception with Practicing Professionals and students currently in Professional School
  • 1:15-2:15 p.m.: Medical Professionals Panel
  • 2:30-4:00 p.m.: Breakout Sessions
  • 4:00-4:30 p.m.: Keynote with Dr. Maria Strobel, MD, MHA, Pediatrician at Vanderbilt's VIP Children's Clinic
