Roxbury Drug Control Unit Recovers Firearm and Narcotics in Nubian Square

At about 1:44 PM on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, members of the District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Unit were on a directed patrol around Nubian square to combat street level drug offenses in the area. During their patrol, Officers observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction between two individuals at the intersection of Roxbury St. and Washington St, and stopped both individuals to identify them and investigate. One of the two individuals was identified as Samuel Rodriguez, 42, of Everett, MA.

During their investigation, Officers recovered a loaded firearm from a fanny pack in Rodriguez's possession. Additionally, Officers also recovered a substance believed to be crack cocaine in Rodriguez's possession.

Samuel Rodriguez was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Subsequent Offense, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

The second individual was identified and will be charged with Distribution of a Class B Drug (Crack Cocaine).
