CITY OF ROUND ROCK TO BREAK GROUND ON MAJOR OLD SETTLERS PARK IMPROVEMENTS

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS - The City of Round Rock was excited to host the groundbreaking ceremony for the Old Settlers Park Buildout, on Monday, September 30th, at 9:00 AM. This event marked the beginning of significant developments aimed at elevating the park into a premier community space.

The planned improvements include the development of a new amphitheater area, Lakeview Pavilion and restrooms, the relocation of Joanne Land Playground, upgrades to the park's interior roads and pedestrian crossings on Harrell Parkway, new pickleball and tennis courts, the expansion of the Multi-Purpose Complex, the construction of a recreation center and office complex, as well as a track and field complex and several multi-use flat fields, and the expansion of the Rock'N River Waterpark.

Mayor Craig Morgan, along with representatives from the City Manager's Office, spoke at the ceremony, joined by guest speakers Charlie Culpepper and Dennis De la Pena. This event was open to the public, and community members attended to bear witness to this exciting milestone for Round Rock.

In May 2023, Round Rock residents voted on a bond to shape the future of their city, prioritizing enhancements to local parks and recreational spaces. The Old Settlers Park Buildout reflects that community vision, aiming to provide increased opportunities for recreation and connection.

The ceremony took place at 1301 Harrell Parkway, and marked a proud moment for the entire community.
