Gina Whiteside Announces Retirement After 29 Years of Dedicated Service to Apple Valley

Apple Valley, CA - Sept 11, 2024 - The Town of Apple Valley is announcing the retirement of Gina Whiteside, Director of Animal Services, who has devoted over 37 years of exemplary public service, 29 years of which was serving the Town of Apple Valley, its residents, and the animals in our care. Gina has been planning her retirement for more than a year and has formally submitted her retirement paperwork, effective later this year.

As Gina embarks on her well-deserved retirement, she reflected on her extensive career with gratitude and optimism. "I'm excited to begin a new chapter in my life and look forward to staying active in my hometown," she shared, highlighting her commitment to community engagement.

Adriana Atteberry will be taking over the management of AVAS, ensuring a seamless transition and continued dedication to the welfare of the animals in her community. Adriana brings nearly two decades experience and a shared passion for animal advocacy, making her well-suited to lead AVAS into its next chapter.
