City Announces Pool Summer Hours and Recreation Sessions

To optimize access to recreational, therapy, and lap swimming, the City of Santa Fe's pools are operating with the following hours until the Bicentennial Pool reopens around July 6.

Current public hours for the City of Santa Fe's pools at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center and Salvador Perez are available here.

Pool schedules will be updated when the Bicentennial pool opens. Fort Marcy Pool repairs have been completed, but the pool opening will be delayed to maximize staffing and increase capacity at larger pools.

Bicentennial Pool will operate

  • Monday through Friday 6 am - 8 pm

  • Saturday and Sunday 10 am - 6 pm

  • Recreation sessions will be offered from 12-2 pm, 2:15-4:15 pm, and 5:45-7:45 pm

  • Weekend recreation sessions will be 10:30 am-2 pm, and 2:15-5:30 pm

Bicentennial Pool's opening was delayed due to a defect covered by warranty that caused a slow leak at the Bicentennial Pool. Recreation Division staff became aware of the leak when conducting regular maintenance and in preparation for the seasonal opening. Since the leak was not apparent, it took some investigation to determine the cause of the leak.

The City of Santa Fe Recreation Division continues to face lifeguard shortages. We need your help recruiting those interested in being a lifeguard trainee. Trainees are paid while they are in training to become a certified lifeguard. All certification costs are paid, and it usually takes two weeks to complete the course. Once trainees become certified lifeguards, full-time and part-time lifeguard positions are available with flexible hours.
