Export-Import Bank of the United States Commemorates 90th Anniversary in New York City

WASHINGTON, DC - The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) hosted a panel and reception at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College last week to commemorate the Bank's 90^th anniversary.

EXIM President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis opened the event delivering remarks that highlighted the work EXIM does to advance American exports while working steadfastly to support Biden-Harris Administration priorities. The event continued with a keynote address delivered by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, who touted the role that small businesses play in the domestic economic framework and the work that EXIM does to American exporters and manufacturers.

The intimate event, Fostering Global Competitiveness: EXIM at 90 and Shaping the Future, then featured a panel discussion which was moderated by Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of U.S. News &World Report, Eric Gertler. The ensuing conversation was an innovative dialogue highlighting the insights from panelists, Bob Steel, Partner and Vice Chairman at Perella Weinberg Partners, Raymond J. McGuire, President at Lazard and Karen Karniol-Tambour, Co-Chief Investment Officer at Bridgewater Associates. The discussion highlighted public-private partnerships and their essential role in increasing global competitiveness, the importance of continued investment in critical minerals and the development of its supply chain as well as the role of artificial intelligence in the economic landscape.

"Hosting the 90^th celebration at the Roosevelt House was a great honor," said Chair Lewis. "We have been fortunate enough to uphold the vision President Franklin Delano Roosevelt outlined for nearly a century and that is no small feat. As we continue to work to support American exports, I have no doubt that EXIM will continue to do everything in its power to ensure the competitiveness and success of the American supply chain."

Following the panel, there was a networking reception that allowed for the continued exchange of ideas and celebration of EXIM's 90^th anniversary.
