Richard J. Daley College President Janine Janosky, Dean of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing David Girzadas, and Executive Director of Manufacturing Matters Steven Meneses talked about the future of manufacturing at FABTECH, North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing event.
The team from Daley presented a session entitled "Industry and Training Convergence for Manufacturing and Engineering to Advance U.S. Competitiveness." This session explored the intersection of industry and education in advancing America's position in global manufacturing. It also highlighted the importance of evolving curriculum and creating integrated education and training programs to provide students the technical skills needed for the jobs of the future. Additionally, this provided a space for the Daley team to share methods that have proven successful for their students including hands on training using state-of-the-art equipment, apprenticeships, and more.
FABTECH brings thought leaders and innovators together to exchange ideas and shape the future of these industries, providing the perfect platform for this important discussion.
