BEAVER CREEK RESORT & CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT TO OPEN FOR WINTER ON NOV. 27

  • Beaver Creek Resort is set to open with an incredible 300acresof terrain, includingtop-to-bottom trails with 3,340 feet of vertical drop, as well as Red Buffalo Park and signature trails Gold Dust, Fools Gold and Gold Rush.

  • Crested Butte Mountain Resort is set to open with a bigger terrain package than previous seasons. Three lifts will service 77 acres of terrain with runs including Houston, Lower Keystone and Lower Ruby Chief.

  • On Nov. 27, all of Vail Resorts' Colorado destinations on the Epic Pass will be open for winter with more than 1,200 acres of terrain already available for skiing and riding. Beaver Creek, Breck, Crested Butte & Vail all above 100% of average snowpack for the season

BEAVER CREEK, Colo.- November 25, 2024 - Beaver Creek Resort and Crested Butte Mountain Resort will open for the 2024/25 winter season on Nov. 27. As the Dec. 2 deadline to purchase the Epic Pass approaches, all five resorts in Vail Resorts' Colorado portfolio will soon be open for the winter! Crested Butte and Beaver Creek Resort have experienced an abundance of natural snowfall in November, alongside optimal snowmaking temperatures. The resorts are proud to offer the following Opening Day terrain packages:

  • Beaver Creek Resort will open with 300 acres of terrain, including Red Buffalo Park and Haymeadow Park, with Centennial Express Lift, Cinch Express Lift and Haymeadow Gondola spinning from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The resort will offer top-to-bottom skiing and riding for 3,340 vertical feet of continuous terrain, and 16 trails. This terrain offering will create an Opening Day to remember.

  • Crested Butte Mountain Resortwill open with 77 acres of terrain, including skiing and riding off the Red Lady, Peachtree and Teocalli lifts with open runs including Houston, Lower Keystone, Warming House Hill, Augusta, and Lower Ruby Chief.

Both resorts will continue to make snow at every opportunity and operations teams will expand the resort footprint as quickly as possible. Alongside an incredible terrain package, both resorts will offer on-mountain and village dining on Opening Day.

  • Beaver Creek Resort will offer dining options at Spruce Saddle, The Ranch, Ice Cream Parlor, Cookie Cabin and Citrea.

  • Crested Butte Mountain Resortwill welcome guests to dining at Coal Breaker Coffee and High Life Crust & Crafts for breakfast, and Butte 66 for lunch and après.

Early Season atBeaver Creek Resort

Opening Day at Beaver Creek Resort will kick off an exciting early season of events and activities. Signature Beaver Creek chocolate chip cookies, coffee and hot cocoa will be available at the Centennial Express base area On Opening Day, and a banner break at the top of Centennial Express with live DJ will start an entire week of celebration. Opening Day turns into Opening Week, with events that include the Beaver Creek Cookie Competition, Tree Lighting and Ice Spectacular, and Holiday Market. While guests revel ina full week of Opening Day celebration, the Talons Crew and resort operations will be busy preparing for TWO weekends of Birds of Prey. Men's and women's Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races will be held on the famed Birds of Prey course in Beaver Creek on back-to-back weekends for the first time ever this December. Racing will be paired with a multi-day festival including concerts, family activities, the Beers of Prey beer tasting, athlete celebrations, and more in Beaver Creek from Dec. 6-15.

A Season of Extremes at Crested Butte

With 561 acres of double-black-diamond terrain, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is known as the North American birthplace of inbounds extreme skiing and riding. Advanced and extreme terrain account for nearly two-thirds of the mountain's overall acreage, including hair-raising steeps off the High Lift, North Face Lift and front side of the mountain. With more than 150 uniquely named areas within the Extreme Limits, the options are endless.

While it would normally take years of skiing or riding to learn all the lines within the Extreme Limits at Crested Butte, the resort's CB Steeps Guide program offers a more efficient answer. Designed for advanced skiers and riders who are ready to take their next step into the famed Extreme Limits, the program is an inbounds tour focused on terrain accessed by the High Lift and North Face Lift. The tour pairs you with an expert instructor and includes an evaluation and light education, helping adventure-minded guests make the jump to extreme skiing and riding.
