Hemingway Center’s Sawtooth Writing Retreat featured on ‘Backroads of Idaho’

Idaho News 6 recently featured Boise State's Sawtooth Writing Retreat on their Backroads of Idaho segment. Reporter Steve Dent spoke to writers on location at a camp outside Ketchum, Idaho. Students were inspired by the locale-the same mountains and dark skies that inspired Ernest Hemingway-and lessons from accomplished authors Paul Bogart and Kim Cross.

Edward "Mac" Test, a professor in the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing, operates the retreat. This was the program's second year, and many students were returnees from 2023.

The Hemingway Center plans to host another retreat in September 2025 and more details will be available during the Spring 2025 semester.
