Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces $24,570,000 Grant to City of Natchez for Forks to Freedom Corridor Complete Streets Project
Bolton, MS- Congressman Bennie Thompson is pleased to announce a significant federal investment in the City of Natchez. The U.S. Department of Transportation's Office of the Secretary of Transportation has awarded a grant of $24,570,000 to Natchez for the transformative Forks to Freedom Corridor Complete Streets project.
The Forks to Freedom Corridor Complete Streets project aims to rejuvenate several key corridors near downtown Natchez by enhancing the urban infrastructure and improving overall accessibility and safety. This project will add sidewalks, wayfinding, traffic calming measures, urban trees, multi-use paths, improved lighting, and mobility hubs to several corridors near downtown Natchez.
Congressman Thompson emphasized the positive impact of this project, stating, "The Forks to Freedom Corridor Complete Streets project represents a significant step forward for Natchez.
