Supplier Showcase focus: Radiation protection

The American Nuclear Society is hosting a Supplier Showcase webinar, "Dose-Free, Radiation Visualization, and Mitigation," tomorrow, November 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EST) on the capabilities of radiation visualization using the RadVision3D product.

The webinar, sponsored by Transco Products Inc., is free for all viewers. Registration is required.

About: Christian Zircher, lead nuclear engineer at Transco, will explain the process and hardware used for capturing geospatial data along with radiological data, how that data is used to create a 3D model, and how that model can be used to perform integral radiation-protection tasks with little or no exposure to dose.

A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

The presenter: Zircher develops technology for radiation detection and visualization and also manages the RadVision3D division of Transco Products.

He holds a B.S. and M.S. in nuclear, plasma, and radiological engineering from University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign.

During his time at Transco, he developed ARGOS (augmented reality gamma observation system), which outputs N-Visage and RadVision3D data into virtual environments. He also developed a number of other radiation visualization and radiation detector simulation systems.

Outside of his product development role, Zircher has used the RadVision3D system to map and identify radiation sources and simulate mitigation strategies for various commercial nuclear power plants and national research laboratories.
