Knife River Corporation Update on South Washington Street & Burleigh Avenue

Dear Residents,

We would like to update you on the on-going reconstruction of South Washington St. and Burleigh Ave. The following highlight progress made to date:

• The installation of underground infrastructure has been steadily progressing with over 6,800 linear feet of underground pipe installed. Underground utility installation is planned to be completed by early September.
• The main earthwork operations are mostly complete with final roadway grading remaining. The final grading is following the underground utility installation.
• Gravel has been installed on the east, west, and north approaches of the Burleigh Avenue roundabout.
• Concrete paving is starting the week of August 19th. Concrete paving will begin at the Burleigh Avenue roundabout and proceed north to the London/Santa Fe intersection. Concrete work will also begin at the north end of the project near the Bismarck Stormwater Ditch and proceed south to the London/Santa Fe intersection.

We ask that area residents continue to utilize the signed detour routes and to watch for upcoming changes as traffic will transition from the temporary roads to the new concrete pavement.

The project has a mid-October completion date for roadway surfaces, this will allow traffic to return to normal patterns and routes before winter. We assure you we are doing all we can to maintain that schedule.
