Governor and First Lady Justice celebrate Park Middle School’s 100th anniversary, deliver $234,000 for new upgrades

BECKLEY, WV - Gov. Jim Justice and First Lady Cathy Justice delivered a $234,219.00 check to Park Middle School to upgrade the 100-year-old building's multimedia equipment, including a new sound system, projector, and display screen for the auditorium.
The check presentation coincided with the school's 100th anniversary celebration where former students from the last century visited and toured the historic building.

Originally opened in 1924 as Woodrow Wilson High School, the school transitioned to Park Junior High in the 1960s before becoming Park Middle School in the early 2000s.
"It's truly an honor to celebrate 100 years of Park Middle School," Gov. Justice said. "Our schools are the heart and soul of our communities, and Park Middle has made a lasting impact on this community and my family. These walls are filled with many cherished moments for my kids and many other folks here in Raleigh County. I'm beyond proud to invest these funds in new media equipment to bring fresh technology to this historic space. I know it'll help create another century of wonderful memories."
