‘Ville Hosts Expert on Future of Work

Millersville University will host the 38th Annual Brossman Foundation and Ronald E. Frisbie Science Lectureship on November 14. The public lecture, "The Future of Work: Will it be Anything Like the Way We Work Now?" will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Reighard Multipurpose Room of the Student Memorial Center.

This year's keynote speaker is Dr. John Howard, director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and the World Trade Center Health Program administrator in the Department of Health and Human Services.

Howard has had a distinguished career in occupational health and public service. He has served as the director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for multiple terms, starting in 2002. Before that, he was the Chief of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health in California. He holds advanced degrees in medicine, public health, law and business administration. Howard is board-certified in internal medicine and occupational medicine and is admitted to practice law in California and D.C. He is also a member of the U.S. Supreme Court bar.

In addition to the keynote, there will be an afternoon presentation for elementary/middle school students, What's Work Got to Do with It?" At 1 p.m. there will be a Science and Math Competition Exam for 10, 11 and 12 grade students.

The Brossman Foundation and Ronald E. Frisbie, Sr. Science Lectureship is sponsored by the University and the Mr. and Mrs. Brossman Charitable Foundation. The program gives students who are focused on math, science and technology a first-hand opportunity to experience these fields up close.

Tickets for the lecture are free and will be available at the door of the Reighard Multipurpose room on the evening of the event.
