TCPUD Completes North Shore Trail Reconstruction Project

TAHOE CITY, Calif. - The Tahoe City Public Utility District has completed the North Shore Trail Reconstruction Project. The project completion marks a significant milestone in enhancing the safety and quality of the heavily used multi-use trail network along the north shore of Lake Tahoe.

The North Shore Trail Reconstruction Project originated from a comprehensive assessment of TCPUD's 23-mile multi-use trail network. The North Shore Trail was prioritized due to its previous condition and high levels of use.

This project invested $3.2 Million to rebuild more than two miles of trail, including over 42,000 square feet of new pavement, safety improvements such as painting driveway crossings, adding new signage, and realignment critical sections of the trail to provide safer intersection crossings.

TCPUD Board President, Ellie Beals, celebrated the project's completion, stating, "We are thrilled to see this much-needed trail reconstruction come to fruition. The upgrades not only make the trail smoother but also significantly enhance safety for cyclists, pedestrians, and all users. These improvements will ensure that our trail system continues to be a valuable resource for both residents and visitors for years to come."<_o3a_p>
