So this week, we are spotlighting one of the UK's favourite film and culture buffs Andrew Thomson, aka @Andrevisual who captivates over 2.2 million followers with his musings.

Andrew's content includes updates on upcoming films, film and TV rankings, and call outs to his community. #FilmTok adore his content, and with over 188 million likes, Andrew is quickly becoming a much loved voice in popular culture.

We sat down with Andrew to chat about his favourite movies, his goals and the creators he loves on TikTok.

Why did you decide to start sharing entertainment content on TikTok?

I decided to start making entertainment content on TikTok because it's something I've always been massively intrested in. Ever since I was young, I was obsessed with movies, TV shows and video games and loved all the little details. I would drive my family mad telling them facts and things I'd learned. TikTok allowed me to have an outlet to find people that want to listen and build a community of like-minded individuals.

What do you love most about the TikTok community?

What I love most is similar to what I just mentioned; regardless of what topic I post about, there is always people who are similar, there is an audience for everything and you get to meet so many amazing people you never normally would. The TikTok community has allowed me to make real life friends that I spend almost every day with, and I think that is pretty special.

What other creators do you follow on TikTok?

I follow a wide variety of people on TikTok. I follow mostly people into the same niche as me and I feel like following people who make similar content or like the same things as you is a great tool for inspiration. And it's nice to mutually support people on the same journey as you. I also follow a bunch of sport and comedy accounts because everyone loves a funny video and I'm a MASSIVE sports fan. So that's normally what I enjoy watching the most in my free time.

What is your goal on TikTok?

My goal on TikTok is to continue to grow and expand. I want to continue posting about the things I love. creating content as a job has allowed me so much freedom in my life to focus on the things I'm passionate about, like travelling. And the beauty of TikTok is that you can do it from anywhere! My goal is to just keep going and building up the community I already have.

What is your favourite TikTok you have made to date and why?

I really don't know my favourite TikTok I have ever made, as I have posted A LOT, more than most creators. If we were going by growth and views I'd say a part of a mythology series I did, that saw my account grow from 600k to 1.7 million in nearly a month. But based on just what I enjoy, maybe one of my videos travelling in Thailand because it was nice to showcase the other parts of my life that the internet does often see.

What was your first ever TikTok video?

My first ever TikTok video that started my journey was a video I posted with a joke about choosing between a girlfriend or Star Wars, and the punch line was that I chose Star Wars. I used a trending audio and wore a Jedi robe and swung a lightsaber. It was a silly video, but for whatever reason, it got millions of views and people started to follow. So this opened my eyes to the possibilities of the platform and I started my journey posting about Star Wars and eventually branched out.

Finally, what else is on your For You feed?!

My For You Feed is very very specific. I get A TON of football videos because they're normally the videos I watch the whole way through. I also get a lot of edits of my favourite films and TV shows. I also tend to get a lot of historical/informational videos mixed in with some comedy/travel videos; a little bit of everything I tend to enjoy consuming.
