L3Harris Night at Falcon Stadium Celebrates US Air Force Academy Athletics

The U.S. Air Force Academy Falcons marked L3Harris Night at Falcon Stadium Saturday during an early season matchup against the San Jose State Spartans with about 700 company employees among the thousands cheering on the Falcons.

The second home game of the season represented the fourth year L3Harris has celebrated its association with the academy and supported the young men and women who are the future leaders of the Air Force and Space Force.

"It's always a great night for us here at Falcon Stadium to show our appreciation for the academy and the cadet wing -- in supporting Falcon athletics, we honor our future Airmen and Guardians and recognize their commitment to our nation," said Art Loureiro, Director, L3Harris Space Defense Solutions. "L3Harris has a very special and extraordinary history with the Air Force and Space Force, and we appreciate the opportunity to honor that in person during L3Harris Night."

Prior to the game, USAFA and L3Harris officials hosted the ribbon cutting to officially open the East Club Presented by L3Harris, a new facility for fans that is part of the Kucera Legacy Center.

L3Harris' relationship with the Air Force and Space Force goes back to before both services were established. The company worked with the predecessor group the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1934 to provide pilot trainer systems and has been involved on scores of military airframes and vital space programs since.

This year the Air Force announced L3Harris will modernize technology on the B-52 Stratofortress that will help keep the aircraft - which first entered service in 1955 - flying through 2050. L3Harris also launched five satellites that are part of the multi-layered missile warning and defense system that protects against hypersonic missile threats by providing near-global and persistent detection, warning, tracking and identification.

Support for academy athletics goes beyond football to include basketball, ice hockey, baseball and soccer.
