After years of preparation, data-informed decisions, and a complex review process, Lindenwood University has been approved to begin a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, starting Fall 2025.

The Missouri State Board of Nursing approved the University's proposal in late August, which was the culmination of significant industry research and job-market evaluation.

This fully on-ground BSN program is a 2+2, which allows students to complete prerequisite courses on a pre-nursing track in their first two years at Lindenwood. The coursework is designed to prepare students for application to the BSN program during their sophomore year. The program will also accept applications from students outside of Lindenwood, understanding the demand for seats in BSN programs across the region.

"We are thrilled to receive the approval to move forward with our BSN program," Dean of the College of Science, Technology, and Health Dr. Cynthia Schroeder said. "Many of our faculty and staff across campus have been key contributors in the process to reach this point and there are exciting opportunities ahead for our nursing program and future students."

The application for Fall 2025 admission to the BSN program is now open on NursingCAS. The addition of this BSN program expands Lindenwood's commitment to nursing and supplements the existing RN to BSN program available fully online.

As part of the proposal, Lindenwood established partnerships with leading hospitals and healthcare providers in the region that will offer students invaluable clinical experience, allowing them to apply their classroom learning in real-world settings. Students will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals, gaining insights and skills that are critical for their future careers.

The University is pursuing, and on track for additional, advanced accreditations for nursing. Starting this fall, construction on a nursing facility will begin in the Library & Academic Resources Center in preparation for the first cohort beginning Fall 2025
