NOPD Investigating Homicide in First District

Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a Homicide by shooting of a male. The offense occurred in the 3200 block of Iberville Street.

On October 20, 2024, at approximately 7:04 P.M., officers responded to a call of an unfamiliar odor from the location and found a decomposed body. The incident was classified as an unclassified death pending an investigation from the Coroner's Office.

The Coroner conducted an investigation and classified the incident as a homicide by shooting at approximately 1:05 A.M., October 21, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim.
