All Fireworks Prohibited in Claremont

The Claremont Police Department would like to remind residents that ALL fireworks, including "Safe and Sane" fireworks, are illegal in the City of Claremont. Fireworks present a danger to our homes and open spaces and can be VERY dangerous for our furry companions and children. Fireworks can also cause anxiety for military veterans suffering from PTSD. CPD will be on the lookout for fireworks throughout the holiday period so that they can continue to keep our residents safe. Anyone setting off fireworks or caught in possession of fireworks will have the fireworks confiscated and will be subject to a citation. The penalty for the violation is a misdemeanor and violators may face fines of up to $1,000 and/or jail time.

The public may turn fireworks into their local LA County Fire Department station. Fire stations in the City of Claremont:

  • Station 101 - 606 West Bonita Avenue
  • Station 102 - 2040 Sumner Avenue
  • Station 62 - 3701 North Mills Avenue
