Reclamation announces public review of repayment contract for Jones Pumping Plant Refurbishment Project

PUBLIC NOTICE

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation and San Luis and Delta-Mendota Water Authority concluded negotiations for a contract for the repayment of extraordinary maintenance work for the Jones Pumping Plant Excitation Cabinet and Control Panel Refurbishment Project.

The $25 million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law investment in the Jones Pumping Plant Excitation Cabinet and Control Panel Refurbishment Project announced earlier this spring on April 5th will be used to perform the extraordinary maintenance work necessary to provide water delivery services and to ensure the continued safe, dependable, and reliable operation of the facility.

The Jones Pumping Plant is owned by Reclamation as part of the Central Valley Project and operated and maintained by the San Luis and Delta-Mendota Water Authority.

Section 9603 of Public Law 111-11 authorizes Reclamation to provide funds for the design, planning, and construction of extraordinary maintenance work and to negotiate a contract for repayment of those costs. The San Luis and Delta-Mendota Water Authority has requested assistance to complete necessary and extraordinary repairs for the Jones Pumping Plant's excitation cabinet and control panels.
