SACRAMENTO - Governor Gavin Newsom today proclaimed a state of emergency in Lake County to support communities recovering from the Boyles Fire.
California earlier this month secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help ensure the availability of resources to suppress the Boyles Fire.
The emergency proclamation facilitates unemployment benefits for impacted residents, waives fees to replace documents such as driver's licenses and birth certificates, and expedites debris removal and cleanup of hazardous waste resulting from the fire, among other provisions.
A copy of the proclamation can be found here.
