Clay + Glass Center Reboot

Clay and Glass Center Napa Valley, located at 2201 Jefferson Street in Napa, and established approximately 2 years ago, has recently undergone a change in management. Sheryl Marshall, the new director as of June 1, is hard at work to re-launch the center by recruiting additional instructors and by creating exciting new offerings, such as one-day glazing and raku workshops as well as the ability to design your own private events for corporate team building, etc.

She recently announced a call to all experienced Napa Valley potters to stop in, check out the center and volunteer to help make 300 wine cups for the center's first annual "CHARDandCLAY" fundraiser. For any potters willing to contribute their time and creativity, the center will be hosting from 10-4 on the following days:

Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th

Ben Betourne, of Betourne Ceramics, who many may know as local potter and instructor at the Sonoma Community Center, will be on hand to welcome his fellow potters on the above dates. The center will be providing all the materials. Both wheel throwers and hand-builders need only bring their creativity and sense of camaraderie to support a great cause!

The event is scheduled for September 7th from 4-7pm and celebrates the Napa Valley harvest season with an array of various wine varietals for tasting in a custom-made cup that accompanies each ticket purchase. Additional details of the event to be released soon; for now, mark your calendars! All proceeds will go towards the purchasing of a raku kiln and other much needed equipment.
