Through the International Hydrological Programme ((IHP)), UNESCO is honored to announce the IV Ibero-American Congress on Sediments and Ecology (CISE) and the First Ibero-American Conference on Erosion and Sedimentation (JIES).

The event, organized in collaboration with various leading institutions in the region, will take place from August 5 to 9, 2024, at the Atlantic headquarters of the University of Costa Rica, located in the city of Turrialba.

The main objective is to promote a scientific exchange space for the integrated management of erosion, sediments, and ecosystems oriented towards sustainable development.

Participants at the event will have the opportunity to learn about best practices, share experiences, strengthen professional relationships, and stay updated on the latest topics related to erosion, sedimentation, and sediment-associated ecology.

In addition to being a top-tier technical experience, the congress will offer in-person attendees the chance to explore the natural and cultural richness of Costa Rica.
