Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 5650 Antoine Drive

July 15, 2024- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 5650 Antoine Drive about 11:45 a.m. on Sunday (July 14).

The suspect, Husamiddin Muhammad, 46, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm in the 263rd State District Court. A booking photo of Muhammad is attached to this news release.

The victim, 30, was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives S. Elias and T. Youll reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call near the above address and learned the victim and a suspect got into a verbal altercation that turned physical. At some point, the victim was shot. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital. A possible suspect was detained at the scene.

Further investigation identified Muhammad as the suspect in this case. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Muhammad was subsequently charged for his role in the incident. Muhammad was booked into the Harris County Jail.
