October 9, 2024- ORLANDO, FL - At 4p.m. today, the City of Orlando activated the Emergency Operations Center to a Level 1 "full activation" for Hurricane Milton.
Effective immediately, all press inquiries related to the storm must be sent directly to the Press Desk at the Emergency Operations Center. Additionally, effective immediately, all press updates and advisories related to the storm will come from the Press Desk at the Emergency Operations Center.
This desk will be manned every single hour during the City's EOC activation with the sole responsibility of assisting news media with information related to the city's impacts from and response to Hurricane Milton.

BE ADVISED - IF YOU CONTACT INDIVIDUAL CITY PRESS STAFF:
During EOC activation, all PIOs will be working together to answer press inquiries related to the storm from the EOC, because of this if you email or call individual City press contacts for storm related inquiries (i.e. City Press Secretary, City PIO, OPD PIOs, OFD PIOs), you will not receive a response.
