BILLERICA, Mass., December 2, 2024 - Entegris, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENTG), a leading supplier of advanced materials and process solutions for the semiconductor and other high-technology industries, today announced it has reached a settlement of a patent lawsuit with DuPont de Nemours, Inc. and several DuPont subsidiaries. The lawsuit relates to a fundamental patent that protects Entegris' chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) slurries that are used in the manufacture of semiconductors.
Under the settlement, the infringement claims brought by Entegris' subsidiary in Delaware District Court and DuPont's counterclaims challenging the validity of the patent have each been dismissed. The exclusion order and cease and desist orders granted by the U.S. International Trade Commission in 2022 remain in place and prevent DuPont from importing Optiplane 2300 and Optiplane 2600 dielectric CMP slurries into the U.S. or selling, marketing, or distributing these products in the U.S.
According to Dann Woodland, senior vice president and president of Entegris' Materials Solutions division, "We are pleased to have settled this legal dispute and look forward to continuing to offer our advanced CMP slurry solutions to our customers."
