The Public Works Department is made up of various sub-departments including Fleet, Line Repair, Streets/Stormwater and Traffic, Wastewater, and Water. Each week, over 100 employees are responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of existing and new infrastructure across League City which includes everything from roadways and traffic lights to storm drains, sewers, and water production.
Below are some tips and projects they are working on:
Underbrush Clearing of an Undeveloped League City Lot
The Public Works Vegetation Management Division recently cleared underbrush on one of League City's undeveloped lot off Calder Rd using a tracked skid steer with a forestry mulcher drum head attachment. The machine can cut trees and shrubs up to 8 inches in diameter. This lot is designated for future infrastructure needs in preparation for growing development in that area. Once the development in the area continues, this League City lot will be developed for its intended purpose. Due to the proximity of the lot to currently developed areas it requires a clean-up of the trees and underbrush to keep the lot within the City's ordinances and standards.
