Red Wolf Reset Slated for Monday

10/18/2024

JONESBORO - With midterm season upon students at Arkansas State University, several organizations are joining forces to support healthy lifestyles.

Red Wolf Reset invites students to participate in activities that promote overall positive health and well-being from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, on Heritage Plaza Lawn.

Student Government Association (SGA) President Micayla McGowen says attendees can participate in activities like yoga, meditation, potting plants, painting, a wellness wheel, and a drunk-driving simulation.

"These activities will hopefully allow students to learn new ideas and tips on how to increase their mental health in different aspects of their lives," said McGowen.

Several organizations will partner with SGA to host Red Wolf Reset, including Wilson Counseling Center and University Police Department.

McGowen hopes it will spark a conversation and introduce students to various on campus resources available to them.

"We are a campus that offers many different resources to start the conversation about mental health and we want to highlight them," she said. "We also believe that struggling with your mental health is normal, especially among college students, and not something that you need to feel alone in."

The free event is open to the A-State community with a focus on serving students during midterm season by exposing them to wellness information and strategies for improving overall well-being.

"We want students to come and open their minds to new ideas on how to deal with and improve their mental health. To give themselves a mental health break during their classes and know what resources can help them," McGowen added.

No registration is required to attend.
