Crowell & Moring Shortlisted for Three Awards at LawWorks’ Pro Bono Awards

London - November 13, 2024 : Crowell & Moring U.K. LLP has been shortlisted for three categories in LawWorks' 2024 Pro Bono Awards. The awards "celebrate the best legal pro bono activities undertaken by organizations and individuals and the positive impact they have had on those helped."

Crowell & Moring's London office is shortlisted in the following categories:

• Best Contribution by a Small or Medium Firm
• Best Contribution to LawWorks Not-For-Profits Program
• Best New Pro Bono Activity

Over the past year, Crowell's London office has undertaken a variety of pro bono initiatives, including advising a charity which has spent decades combating poverty, isolation, and distress amongst the elderly population in England. It also provided corporate law advice on governance matters to Bath Welcomes Refugees, a charity for refugees and asylum seekers, whose mission is to provide help with resettlement into the UK.

"Bath Welcomes Refugees is now in a better place to support refugees and asylum seekers in our community as a result of Crowell's work. We are grateful for the empathetic, professional and timely way in which they helped us resolve our governance challenges," said the trustees of Bath Welcomes Refugees.

A cross-border team at Crowell also advised the DISARM Foundation, a U.S. charity focused on tackling the spread of online disinformation and preserving the integrity of democratic systems. Crowell advised the Foundation on establishing a presence in the United Kingdom, a key strategic next step in its international expansion.

LawWorks is a charity that promotes, supports, and facilitates pro bono legal services. LawWorks supports a network of over 300 independent pro bono clinics across England and Wales, and facilitates free legal advice for smaller charities and social enterprises through its Not-For-Profits Program.

The winners will be announced at the LawWorks Annual Pro Bono Awards ceremony on Dec. 4 at the Law Society, Chancery Lane, London.
