Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Awards Career & Technical Education Scholarships to Ten High School Graduates

Bar Harbor, Maine (June 27, 2024) - Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has awarded the Bank's 2024 Career & Technical Education Scholarship to ten recent high school graduates from Northern New England. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded presented to graduates who attended a technical career program as part of their high school curriculum and are planning to attend a college or technical school in the academic year immediately following graduation.

This year's scholarship recipients will be eligible to apply for an additional $1,000 in 2025 to be used toward a second year of college or technical school.

The 2024 scholarship recipients are:

Jessika Bridges of Prospect Harbor, Maine, is a graduate of Sumner Memorial High School and attended Hancock County Technical Center. She plans to study nursing at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

Patience Craig of Topsham, Maine, is a graduate of Mt. Ararat High School and attended Region 10 Technical High School. She plans to study elementary education at Husson University.

Lexi Donaghy of Machias, Maine, is a graduate of Machias Memorial High School and attended Coastal Washington County Institute of Technology. She plans to study early childhood education at Washington County Community College.

Jessica Dyer of Brooklin, Maine, is a graduate of Deer Isle-Stonington High School and attended Hancock County Technical Center. She plans to study microbiology at the University of Maine.

Mirielly Ferreira of Nashua, New Hampshire, is a graduate of Nashua High School South and attended Wilbur H. Palmer Career & Technical Education Center. She plans to study animal science at the University of New Hampshire.

Kristian Gerrish of Southwest Harbor, Maine, attended Hancock County Technical School. He plans to study High Performance Automotive at the University of Northwestern Ohio.

Marissa Taylor of Manchester, New Hampshire, attended Manchester High School and attended Manchester School of Technology. She plans to study psychology at the University of Southern Maine.

Nicholas Thompson of Cherryfield, Maine, is a graduate of Narraguagus High School and attended Coastal Washington County Institute of Technology. He plans to study criminal justice at Eastern Maine Community College.

Seth Washington of Hudson, Maine, attended United Technologies Center. He plans to study plumbing at Eastern Maine Community College.

Ryan Page of Ascutney, New Hampshire, is a graduate of Windsor High School and attended Hartford Area Career & Technology Center. He plans to study computer science software engineering at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

The Bank established the Career & Technical Education Scholarship in 2018 and has awarded 94 scholarships to date.
