Stolen Vehicle/Firearm – Arrest: C24-201199

On August 23, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service received a report regarding the theft of a vehicle while it was parked on Gareau Street.

On August 29, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., General Patrol officers from the East District responded to a call regarding this stolen vehicle parked on Moncton Avenue.

Upon arrival, police confirmed this was the same stolen vehicle, and a lone occupant was sitting in the driver's seat. He was taken into custody, and a loaded sawed-off shotgun was located in the vehicle.

A 19-year-old male, Succes MUSAKA from Winnipeg, was charged with the following offences and detained in custody:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
