Alameda Street Project Update

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX-On Saturday, October 19, Phase 1 of the Alameda Street Project will continue with a new traffic control plan. The street reconstruction will result in the closure of the southbound lanes on South Alameda Street from Louisiana Avenue to Texan Trail. This phase of the project is expected to remain in effect through April 2025.

During this project phase, traffic will be redirected to two-way, single-lane traffic within the northbound lanes. Safety remains a top priority, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays, remain aware of the work zone, and follow posted signs. Access to all businesses in the work area will be maintained throughout construction.

The Alameda Street Project is expected to be completed in February 2026.

The City of Corpus Christi is committed to projects that maintain or improve infrastructure for every city resident, business, and visitor.
