Investigation Update: Suspect Arrested Following a Shooting Incident in Roxbury

Investigation Update: At about 9:20 AM, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Tyrone Anderson, 39, of Dorchester, in the area of 2 Yarmouth Place. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Roxbury District Court for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 4:02 AM, on Saturday, May 18, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 9 Abbotsford Street for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
