Residents can visit a thought-provoking art exhibition raising awareness of domestic abuse and gendered violence at the Williamson Art Gallery.
Part of the borough's activities during the 16 days, the exhibition brings together work from local services and the survivors they support.
Beauty In The Broken is a collection of art pieces, showcasing creations from local survivors of domestic abuse using 'kintsugi', an ancient Japanese technique of repairing a broken object often known as the art of precious scars.
The 16 days of action is a global campaign which calls for an end to gendered violence. It starts every year on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls and ends on 10 December, Human Rights Day.
Emma Kennedy, an Empowerment Advisor at Tomorrow's Women - one of the partners behind the project - spoke to us about how kintsugi plays a role in this awareness raising exhibition. Watch her interview here:
The exhibition has been produced in collaboration by the following services and organisations: Wirral Domestic Abuse Hub, Lighthouse Centre, Cre8ing Communities, Wirral Women and Children's Aid, Magenta Housing, Merseyside Police, WEB Merseyside, Tomorrow's Women, Merseyrail and RASA Merseyside.
You can find Beauty In The Broken at the Williamson Art Gallery from until Saturday 21 December. For more information visit: Beauty In The Broken - Williamson Art Gallery.
