Portuguese Navy Fleet Commander visits EUMAM-Mozambique

Maputo, Mozambique - The European Union Military Assistance Mission Mozambique (EUMAM-MOZ) Mission Force Commander (MFCrd), Brigadier-general Luis Barroso, welcomed the Portuguese Navy Fleet Commander, Vice-admiral Nuno Chaves Ferreira, and his delegation, to our Headquarters, 3 September, 2024.

EUMAM-MOZ Command had the opportunity to provide the Portuguese Navy Fleet Commander an overview of EUMAM-MOZ' roles, capabilities, mission, current activities and the main ongoing projects within the Headquarters.

During his visit, Vice-admiral Chaves Ferreira also had the opportunity to meet all Senior National Representatives and the Portuguese personnel assigned to EUMAM-MOZ and understand their assigned duties.

Finalising his visit to the Mission's HQ, the Portuguese Navy Fleet Commander took the occasion to address and thank the staff for their work and efforts to supporting Mozambique in achieving lasting peace and security.

The launch of the new mission builds on the solid foundations laid by EUTM Mozambique and demonstrates the EU's unwavering commitment to supporting Mozambique's security efforts.
