LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) is hosting the Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 9:30-11 a.m., at Heritage Hall in downtown Lansing.
Now in it's fifth year, the ceremony will celebrate Michigan's more than 516,000 veterans and include the presentation of colors by the Dewitt VFW Post 671 and a pinning of Vietnam-era veterans to officially honor them for their service to our country. Speakers include State Senator Veronica Klinefelt, State Commander Kimberly Napoleon of the VFW Department of Michigan and MVAA Director Brian L. Love followed by a reception with light refreshments.
"Michigan ranks twelfth in the nation in veteran population with more than 516,000 that call Michigan home," says MVAA Director Brian L. Love. "Each veteran has a unique service journey and everyday at the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, we work to honor their story and connect them to the benefits they earned serving our nation."
Heritage Hall is located at 323 W. Ottawa St., inside the Capitol, in downtown Lansing. This event is free and open to the public. To reserve your seat, email [email protected], by Friday, Nov. 8.
