City of Athens Open House - ATH-56-11.267 (PID 118279)

The City of Athens is hosting an Open House to provide interested parties an opportunity to review and comment on the planned improvements project for the SR 56 and SR 682 intersection.

The purpose of the ATH-56-11.267 Project is to improve safety conditions, traffic control, pedestrian accessibility, lighting, and streetscape aesthetics. Construction will remove the existing traffic signal and construct a roundabout to facilitate traffic.

The Open House will be held Thursday August 15, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Event Room A of the Community Center, 701 East State Street. City representatives, along with representatives from HNTB, the design firm, will be available during the Open House for general questions about the project, and to gather feedback and any concerns about the project, environmental issues, historic issues, or features in the project area. Citizens are encouraged to drop by any time between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to complete a comment form, speak with a member of the project team, and share their thoughts on the project. There is no fixed program.

Information from the Open House, including the comment form, will be posted on the City's website, www.ci.athens.oh.us/115/Engineering-and-Public-Works, by August 15, 2024 and will be available for review and comment until midnight on Monday, September 16, 2024.
