Ramp Closure Notice - Northbound US 218

Starting Monday, October 7, the Iowa DOT will begin bridge deck joint repairs on the northbound U.S. 218 ramp bridge over the northern side of the interchange. For the Iowa DOT's contractor to start, the dual lane exit will be closed that provides ramp access to northbound US 218/IA 27 (towards Janesville and Waverly) and also the fly-over IA 27/IA 58 ramp (towards University Avenue and the City of Hudson). A marked detour route will guide drivers through Broadway Street, Airport Boulevard, West Airline Highway, Leversee Road, and East Lone Tree Road. The project is expected to be completed by mid-November, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
