Road Closure Notice Main Street (16th to 18th Street)

Beginning as early as Thursday, August 22, 2024, the contractor will continue the reconstruction of Main Street from 16th Street to the north side of the intersection of 18th Street. For the contractor to begin pavement removal, a full road closure will be required. The road closure will be in effect for approximately twelve (12) weeks, depending on the weather. Below you will find a map with the closure area highlighted.

The planned work for this street includes removal of the existing pavement, installation of new sanitary sewer, water main and storm sewer, new concrete pavement and driveway approaches, and grass from the back of the new curb to the front edge of the sidewalk.

For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed street. It would be advisable to stay behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.

Temporary construction access will be maintained for the driveways along the east side of Main Street through the use of gravel drives to one of three locations (north to East 16th Street, west to West 17th Street, or south to 18th Street). While these locations are subject to change based on the contractor's activity, the access will remain intact.
