The City of Rowlett is transitioning solid waste providers from FCC to Republic Services as of October 1, 2024.

Not only is the service provider changing, the services are also changing.

  • Trash and Recycle will be collected using an automated truck, meaning that there will not be a person dumping the cart. The truck will deploy an automated arm that will dump the cart. Cart spacing is essential for service.
  • All Trash and Recycle must fit into the cart with the lid closed.
  • Bulk trash and Brush will be serviced once per monthwith an 8 cubic yard limit.
    • Bulk and Brush service schedules will be provided before October 1, 2024.
    • 8 cubic yards is equal in size to approximately eight washers/dryers.
  • Trash and Recycle service days for residents will NOT change. For example, if your trash day is Monday, your trash day will stay Monday.
