WVU issues Campus Warning for recent domestic violence incident not involving students or employees

West Virginia UniversityPolice issued a Campus Warning Thursday (Sept. 12) following a Sept. 10 domestic violence incident that occurred in the University Place parking garage located on University Ave.

The incident did not involve University employees or students.

On Tuesday (Sept. 10), UPD officers were alerted to a disturbance in the parking garage and, within minutes, officers were on the scene investigating.

Although the suspect and victim immediately left the area separately, UPD officers were able to conduct witness interviews and retrieve camera footage from the garage to identify a suspect.

An arrest warrant for domestic violence has been issued for Saquan TyQuil Moore - see the suspect photo- and officers are actively searching for him.

Moore is not a WVU student or employee and is banned from WVU property, effective immediately.

Anyone with information relating to this incident or the whereabouts of Moore is asked to call University Police at 203-293-COPS (2677) or visit the department at 992 Elmer Prince Drive. Information may be shared anonymously.

"I want to publicly thank the individuals who immediately reported this incident," Chief Sherry St. Clairsaid. "We tell the WVU community that if they see something to say something and this is a direct result of that."
