Orange County Information Technology Staff Receives Accolades

Goshen - The Orange County Information Technology Services (ITS) Department's Nick Zabicki and William Hentschel were presented with Best of New York Awards during the New York Digital Government Summit in Albany, NY, hosted by Government Technology.

The Summit brings together technology focused public-sector professionals with leading industry partners to connect on innovative approaches, get inspired, and discover new technologies.

"I'm grateful for our hardworking ITS team and their tireless efforts in developing and implementing efficient technology solutions," said Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus. "As the digital landscape expands, ensuring data security and easy access to information becomes critical for delivering vital County services. I congratulate Nick and William on their well-deserved recognition and thank them and the entire ITS team for their commitment to fellow employees and the residents we serve."

Zabicki, a Systems Analyst, won the Best Application Serving an Agency's Business Needs - TaxMapIQ Tax Map Records System (TRMS). This application is a searchable records management solution designed to efficiently oversee land parcels in Orange County. TRMS plays a crucial role in managing tax-related information, helping agencies efficiently handle tax records, and related processes.

Hentschel, a Desktop Coordinator, was honored for his outstanding IT client services. He consistently demonstrates a deep understanding of client needs while delivering high satisfaction with his proactive approach and rapid issue resolution. Most recently, he assisted in restoring critical systems after a global incident disrupted Windows desktops and servers. By prioritizing essential services like 911, the Sheriff's Department, and the County Clerk, he was able to minimize public disruption.

Commissioner, Chief Information Officer Glenn Marchi, Ph.D., emphasized the unwavering dedication and innovative spirit of Orange County's IT professionals, who tirelessly serve the needs of our residents.

"It was an honor to witness the incredible talent of Orange County on the stage receiving prestigious awards," said Marchi. "Their hard work ensures our citizens receive the highest level of service."

Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer Jennifer Lorenz of the State of New York emphasized, "To navigate the complexities of the digital age, we must prioritize innovative solutions and foster leadership that drives meaningful change. The awardees recognized at this Summit exemplify this spirit of innovation."
