14.11.2024

Question for written answer E-002542/2024/rev.1
to the Vice-President of the Commission / High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
Rule 144
Lynn Boylan (The Left), Kathleen Funchion (The Left)

Cuba is currently experiencing a severe crisis, which has largely manifested itself through nationwide blackouts, two earthquakes and severe difficulties with the nation's water supply. These problems are a result of the long-standing embargo placed on Cuba by the United States and the listing of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism.

  • 1.So far this year, what support has the EU given to Cuba in order to repair critical infrastructure and meet the humanitarian needs of the Cuban people?
  • 2.Will the EU urgently provide Cuba with additional humanitarian assistance and the necessary support to repair critical infrastructure?
