On Sunday, November 10, 2024, just after 8:00 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2800 Block of Gateway Oaks Drive for reports of a stabbing. Responding officers located one male adult with at least one stab wound. Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until Sacramento Fire Personnel arrived on scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where sadly he succumbed to his injuries.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and began interviewing witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
In the evening of November 11, 2024, Sacramento Police Department detectives arrested the suspect in this incident. 30-year-old Gino Espinosa of Sacramento, was arrested for homicide related charges.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
