Ellis Park Racing and Gaming Celebrates Breast Cancer Survivors at Pretty in Pink Race Day

LOUISVILLE, KY., (August 19, 2024) - On Saturday, August 3rd, Ellis Park Racing and Gaming ("Ellis Park") welcomed the team from Horses and Hope to the track to celebrate the Pretty in Pink Race Day. The day was a celebration of Breast Cancer Survivors, who were welcomed to the track with free seating, lunch and a Horses and Hope Gift. Other events of the day included a fashion show, a race honoring breast cancer survivors and an appearance from Kentucky Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman.

Horses and Hope is also working with Ellis Park to provide education and mammography screening to their backside workers.

"Ellis Park Racing & Gaming and Churchill Downs Incorporated are proud to partner with Horses and Hope in their work to increase breast cancer screening and education for our horse industry workers", said Claire Simms, Sr. Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at CDI. "We at Churchill Downs are honored to celebrate the survivors, encourage those still fighting their cancer battle and work together to fund the research that will ultimately find a cure."
